Two Small Items For C4 Owners.

Door Armrest Saver:  This is a small metal piece that fits in the hand pull on the door panel on ’84 thru ’89 cars. When you pull your door closed, you are pulling on the door panel and armrest. Over time this can cause the panel to crack. These little door savers go into the handhold pocket. First, you remove the 2 screws in the bottom of the pull area. Then, drop a door saver in and reinstall the screws. The leg with the holes goes down and the vertical flange goes to the inside of the car. Now you have a piece of metal in there to pull on. The metal is screwed into the door structure, so you are not putting the load on the plastic panel. The parts are available from Eckler’s for about $20. It takes maybe all of 15 minutes to install both sides.

Rear Shade Curtain Clips:  For ’84 to ’96 coupes, Eckler’s also has replacement rear shade curtain retainer clips. These are soft rubber and replace the hard plastic clips. They eliminate the rattle and prevent the shade from coming unhooked and popping closed. Just remove the 2 screws in the old clips and reinstall with the new clips. The parts cost $8 and it only takes about 10 minutes to install.
